Introductory Offer: Divmod/Holden Web July 11th Seminar in D.C.

With our new partnership in place, Holden Web and Divmod would like to make a special offer to people with a serious need to build flexible, networked systems from mature, open source components: a free half-day seminar by Steve Holden and Glyph Lefkowitz.

The presentations will demonstrate the practical worth of the Twisted environment in easily creating complex networked systems from components available in Python, Twisted, and Twisted plugins. Registration will start at 9:30am and the seminar will begin at 10:00am; the event will conclude at noon. Afterward, attendees will be invited to lunch. If our past experiences are anything to go on, this will include animated discussions about technology, software, business, and the future of computing.

Our target audience is management and technical directors who are seeking to bring their teams powerful open source networking and integration tools. Additionally, we will be providing free software and demos bundled on CD and/or DVDs for the attendees.

Steve Holden is the founder of Holden Web, one of the premier authorities on Python training and is the author of Python Web Programming. Glyph Lefkowitz is the co-founder of Divmod, Inc. and the creator of the Twisted Python open source project.

This event will be held on the 11th of July in Washington, D.C. For registration information, directions, and other questions, contact Steve Holden.

Divmod Announces Partnership with Holden Web

Divmod is pleased to announce a partnership with Holden Web, LLC. Proprietor Steve Holden is a renowned teacher of Python, the founding chair of PyCon (chaired 2003-2005), author of the book Python Web Programming and long-time fan of Twisted and Divmod.

Steve will be working with Divmod to provide Twisted and Divmod training as well as courseware and materials. With his extensive background, we are thrilled about the energy, enthusiasm, and perspective Steve's presence will bring to the team, our products, and the services that we provide.

This opportunity to provide educational services to users and developers of Twisted and Divmod software is a natural extension of the guiding role we have played in the Twisted community. Empowering others to use our software for creative problem solving has consistently been one of our goals. The new partnership with Holden Web is an indication of Divmod's growth in general, and specifically, our dedication to knowledge sharing.

When asked about his thoughts on the partnership, Steve said, "I am really looking forward to getting into some joint projects with the guys at Divmod. They have brains the size of planets." In addition to being deeply flattered, the Divmod team would like to allay fears of gravitational collapse and state for the record that this has provided further justification to continue working in a distributed manner.

I'm pleased to announce that we finally have a new look for divmod.com and related sites! We don't currently have a designer on payroll, so we had to wing it. Be sure to check out the following:

In the coming months, we plan to give the site(s) another update with something even more exciting to look at ;-)

Until then, enjoy!
